Birgish Cave

It's a small cave formed by mainly sedimentary limestone. Its entrance is in the shape of a crack that is not vertical, which is rare to find in big caves. It contains 4 big galleries, all connected with sometimes uncomfortable tunnels. All 4 of these galleries have minor tube shape extensions with dead ends. Its main inhabitant is the tiny bat. It is up in the north, hidden in the woods of Birgish near the King's camp house. Humid and dark, it tend to stay warm, even in winter. Its beauty lies in the multiple roots of big trees living on the surface and massive stalactites reaching from top to bottom and vice versa.

One day trip

A 1.5km water round trip. You will wear a helmet and a headlight. You will get muddy and dirty but not wet and you will have fun. The route is really easy with some crawling and scrambling.

Departure point will be from Tropical Desert offices on the 3rd circle Amman

During winter timing, we will be leaving at 07:30 in the morning. During summer timing, you guys get to sleep another extra hour.

Return time depends on number in the group and their physical status. None the less, no group will get on the return bus/car after 16:00.

For this trip, you can either choose to bring your own food or we can provide it for you.

Transportation is optional. It’s a one and half an hour drive to get there and back.
