11 days Rabat to Fes via Essaouira, Marrakesh, Merzouga Camel trekking tour

Day 01 : Rabat to Casablanca

You will be met and greeted as soon as you arrive to Rabat international Airport, then and before heading the the famous Casablanca, you will be exploring the great historical landmarks of Rabat, the famous Kasbah Oudaya admiring its medieval architecture and of course the most important the Hassan tower mosque from the mowahideen era, before heading to Morocco’s commercial metropolis and its biggest city Casablanca. Casablanca is where you will be staying the night.

Day 02 : Casablanca to Essaouira via El Jadida

Following breakfast you will begin your day with a visit to Casablanca’s greatest attraction, the iconic Hassan II Mosque, the biggest in morocco and Africa. The drive will next take us down the coast to the lovely and stunning Essaouira city, with a stop at the old stylish El Jadida which is a former Moroccan Portuguese colonized city with many interesting sights to see, including the  famous Portuguese port. You’ll have plenty of time in order to discover the city’s wonderful city enjoying the city’s beach’s tranquility and old harbor after you arrive in the early afternoon. You will spend the night in the city of Essaouira.

Day 03 :Essaouira to Marrakesh

Following breakfast, we’ll take a short excursion across the Chichawa to the renowned city Marrakesh, the red city and Morocco’s most famous city. In Marrakesh, you will be spending the night.

Day 04 : Marrakesh Visit

Following breakfast, a local guide will join you, the guide that will take you on a once-in-a-lifetime tour in the heart of one of the oldest Medinas in Morocco, with its magically medieval atmosphere, also the Saadien era Tombs, the well known Bahia Palace with its old Moroccan architecture, th Majourelle beautiful gardens then to the worldwide known square of Jamaa El Fna where storytellers, charmers of dangerous snakes, funny monkeys charmers, and Henna Women can be found just as if you was in the middle ages, as well as other many famed historical and cultural sites. You will spend the night in the same city.

Day 05 : Marrakesh to Dades via Kasbah Ait ben Haddou, Rose Valley

Following breakfast, drive to the valley of Dades across the very high road mountain pass of Tizi n Tichka, one of Morocco’s most known and stunning passes at 2260 meters above the sea’s level with its panoramic very far reaching view, then visit the Telouat Kasbah the famous old war general  Thami Glaoui’s home, before continuing on to the worldwide known Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah which is a world heritage site by the UNESCO  in the heart of the Ouad el Malh and which also considered as the oldest in Morocco. We travel to Ouarzazate, often known as the “HollyWood of Africa,” where some very famous and well-known films such as “Lawrence of Arabia,” “Kingdom of Heaven”, the most famous TV show in the world ‘’ Game OF Thrones’’ and many other productions were filmed here. Then we proceed to BoumalneDades via the UNESCO-protected Skoura Palm forest and the Valley of Roses, passing via the beautiful city KalaaMagouna, which is widely renowned as the city of roses and for rose growing and production. We will spend the night at the Gorge of Dades.

 

Day 06 :Dades to Merzouga via Todra Gorges, Tinjdad, Erfoud

Following breakfast, travel to Merzouga through the Todra Gorges, Morocco’s most magnificent and also the largest and biggest rock canyons. As we begin our journey to Merzouga in the heart of the desert, the geological scenery will significantly alter as we are on the road, becoming more desertic as we drive through the pal valleys and arid plains on our way to the famed Berber village of Merzouga. Merzouga is where we’ll be spending the night.

Day 07 :Merzouga Visit

We will begin our adventure behind the Erg Chebbi huge dunes, making our path within the golden beautiful dunes in order to explore the neighboring areas of the city of Merzouga, with paying a short visit to where area’s native nomads live, after that we continue the journey to the ancient Mifiss mines to explore the old place. We’ll end our tour by visiting Khamlia village which is widely known as the black village, where we’ll listen to some Gnawian traditional  old music, that history goes back to the slave trade era and the slaves used to sing to help them cope with their daily struggles. We’ll return to the hotel in the time of the afternoon and embark on a camel trek over Erg Chebbi’s beautiful golden dunes, catching sunset on our way back to our camp, in which you will be greeted by a refreshing Moroccan tea cup when you arrive at the camp. You will have your dinner beneath the shining stars, with drummers adding to the tranquility of the night you could never be able to forget.

Day 08 :Merzouga to Fes via Rissani, Ziz Valley, Ifrane

You will need to get up early this day to witness one of your life’s most stunning sunrises that you will ever be able to see, after that you will ride the camels back to your hotel for breakfast and a shower. After recharging our batteries and souls in the calm desert, we’ll return to Marrakesh through the historical and ancient old town of Rissani, which is the place where the present monarchy began to dominate Morocco; a stroll through its historical old market or souk and we’ll transport you again back when at the time that herbalists and antique dealers close their shops. We carry on to Fes, Morocco’s cultural center and its spiritual capital, going via the verdant Valley of Ziz in order to witness a amazing view of what is considered as one of Africa’s largest oasis, then into the huge cedar forest to visit the Atlas Mountains’ barbarian apes. While we’re approaching Fes, our path will consider passing within one of Morocco’s most stunning cities, Ifrane one of the not only Morocco but the world beautiful cities, also known as Morocco’s Switzerland. We get on the road and head to Fes and we will spend the night in this old city.

 

Day 09 : Fes Visit

Following breakfast, an authorized local guide will join you, this last will tour you around the city including its famous historical landmarks, such as the old medina of Fes ElBali considered as the oldest in the country, the oldest university in the world AlQraouine University, the Jewish Quarter and its special atmosphere and architecture, as well as other many places. Fes is Morocco’s fourth biggest city and served as a capital for the country during the rule of the Idrissis dynasty. You will love wandering through its winding old streets and past its massive old gates and portals. Fes’s old city or Medina is  also known as Fes el Bali, is said that it is the world’s biggest car-free metropolitan area, with residents relying on mules or tiny motorcycles to move around.

Day 10 : Fes to Rabat via Volubilis, Meknes

Following breakfast, you will be returning to Morocco’s capital through the old 3000 years old Roman remains and ruins of  the city Volubilis, a city which shows Roman’s remote territories in northern Africa through the beautiful green area of olive trees fields in the famous Hill of Saiss , and then we will continue to the ismailian capital which is considered as one of Morocco’s imperial and oldest cities, Meknes, where you’re going to have the opportunity to discover one amongst the largest gates or portals in northern Africa and the world generally BabElmansour. Then we’ll continue on to Rabat after having lunch in the city of Meknes.

Day 11 : Rabat Airport transfer.

 

It will be you’re the last day of your journey in Morocco, that’s why we will make sure to transport you safely in accordance with your flight time to the airport.
